“SECRETS TO GETTING PUBLISHED
—AGAIN AND AGAIN AND AGAIN!”

In this seminar, we want to take you—the writer--to the next level of writing-to-publish! George and Tomlin will teach six exciting new workshops! Participants can choose any three of the workshops they wish to attend.

Workshops include:

(Participants can choose between seminars 1 and seminar 2):

1. The Art of Creative Story-Writing (Denise George)
(Editors and readers love stories! Throughout history, well-told stories have imparted truth, captivated attention, held interest, and created memories for readers and listeners. In this one-hour seminar, Denise George will teach you how to write the kind of story—both long stories and short stories--that will make your non-fiction book, novel, and/or magazine article come alive!)

2. Photography: Creating the Perfect “Article Package”
(Carolyn Tomlin)
(While writers use words to inform, entertain, and educate readers, photographers depend on cameras. When these two mediums are combined, you create a winning combination most editors can’t pass up! Carolyn Tomlin will show you how presenting this combination to an editor can make a difference in getting an article contract--instead of a rejection letter. Tomlin will also show you how to match a digital photograph with an article query that will put your article idea at the top of an editor’s stack!)

(Participants can choose between seminars 3 and seminar 4):

3. Writing with Powerful Description: How to Effectively Use Metaphors, Similes, and Illustrations (Denise George)
(You’ve heard it said: “One picture is worth a thousand words!” In this one-hour seminar, Denise George will teach you how “one word can be worth a thousand pictures!” Make your writing more captivating, effective, readable, and attention-holding by using just the “right” metaphors, similes, and creative illustrations! Learn how to find them, create them, file them, and use them to give your non-fiction and fiction books and magazine articles that special “picturesque punch.”)

4. One Idea, Multiple Magazine Markets (Carolyn Tomlin)
(Use your research for many articles instead of just one article! Research your topic once, and sell it many times! Learn how to expand the magazine market by choosing a general topic that appeals to both Christian and secular publications. Carolyn Tomlin will help you discover how using “webbing” results in multiple sales that reach millions of people!)

(Participants can choose between seminars 5 and seminar 6):

5. Sidebars Editors Love! How to Create Sidebars That Enhance (And Sell!) Your Magazine Articles! (Denise George)
(Well-written sidebars expand article information, create greater reader interest, and make your article “package” more appealing to magazine editors! In this one-hour seminar, Denise George will teach you how to research, find, choose, and write effective sidebars to accompany your articles.)

6. Networking Successfully with Magazine Editors
(Carolyn Tomlin)
(Developing personal working relationships with magazine editors will increase your contacts in the publishing field and lead to more articles sold and published. Carolyn Tomlin will teach you simple networking ideas that will make a huge difference in your article sales. She will also show you how to work successfully with several magazines from the same company.)
